The Reverend Dr. Eric Foley is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Voice of the Martyrs Korea. Over the past twenty years he has trained more than 1,300 churches and Christian NGOs how to build volunteer and giving programs grounded in distinctively Christian discipleship practices. At VOM Korea, he supports the work of persecuted Christians in North Korea and around the world and spreading their discipleship practices worldwide. He is a much sought-after speaker and teacher in North America and Asia, and his blog receives visitors daily from around the world. The Rev. Dr. Foley received a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Purdue University, served as Presidential Scholar at Christian Theological Seminary, and received a master’s degree in Applied Communication and Alternative Dispute Resolution from the University of Denver. He recently earned a Doctor of Management at Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management in Cleveland, Ohio. He is the author of Coach Your Champions, The Whole Life Offering: Christianity as Philanthropy and These Are The Generations. He is an ordained pastor of The Evangelical Church of North America.
The Reverend Dr. Hyun Sook Foley is the Co-Founder and President of the Voice of the Martyrs Korea. She serves as a charter board member of the Christian Council for Financial Transparency, Korea. She received a master’s degree from Sungkyunkwan University, as well as her master’s in Clinical Counseling from Colorado Christian University and her master of divinity from Torch Trinity Graduate University. She received a doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Regent University. The Rev. Dr. Foley was ordained by KAICAM. She is the translator of numerous Christian books and resources, including Prasso self-counseling materials, the Peacemaker Ministries book The Peacemaker, and These are the Generations, which details the story of third generation underground Christians in North Korea. The Rev. Dr. Foley is a global voice on both North Korean Christianity and women and persecution at various conferences and seminars, including events in Sri Lanka, Finland, Poland, Belgium, Australia, the Netherlands, and the UK. She has taught and trained persecuted Christians from the most dangerous countries in the world. Her life story is the subject of a 15-part series in Kukmin Ilbo (a prominent newspaper in Korea). She networks with woman ministry leaders in North America, Europe, and Asia, especially in the areas of ministry leadership, discipleship, and North Korean Christianity. For more than 15 years she has been a pioneer and leader in North Korean work, including underground believer work in North Korea, two training schools for North Korean defectors (Underground University and Underground Technology) in South Korea, radio broadcasting and balloon launching into North Korea, translation and printing of North Korean Bibles and discipleship materials, scoring and recording of North Korean Christian praise songs, adapting South Korean materials to the North Korean dialect, and serving North Korean workers in Mongolia, Russia, and other countries.
